Department of Physical Medicine and Postoperative Rehabilitation

     The department treats conditions included in following clinical pathways: 

1. Physical therapy and rehabilitation of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. 
2. Physical therapy and rehabilitation of diseases of the peripheral nervous system. 
3. Physical therapy and rehabilitation of disorders of the central nervous system. 
 
             The department uses the following technical equipment: 
1. Low frequency current treatment device (galvanic, diadynamic). 
2. Medium frequency current treatment device (interference). 
3. Ultrasound treatment device. 
4. High frequency current treatment device (UHF, radar, microwave). 
5. Devices for electrical stimulation. 
6. Infrared light treatment device. 
7. Laser therapy and laser acupuncture devices. 
8. Device for passive postoperative knee kinesiotherapy (Artromot). 
9. Upper and lower limb kinesiotherapy devices. 
10. Underwater jet massage device (tangentor). 
 
           The department has: 
Swimming pool 
Jacuzzi 
Steam bath 
Solarium 
Sauna 
Gym with Panata fitness equipment
 
        Underwater exercise and medical exercise therapy is carried out. The outpatient activity of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation includes treatment the following conditions: 
1. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system: 
o traumatic injuries (soft tissue contusions, hematomas, wounds, sprains, dislocations, meniscal damage, post fracture conditions); 
o diseases of the muscles and tendons (myotendinitis, tendovaginitis); 
o scoliosis, osteoporosis, flat feet, Dupuytren’s contracture, Sudeck’s syndrome and others. 
2. Degenerative joint diseases – osteoarthritis of various joints and the spine. 
3. Diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system (multiple sclerosis, post stroke conditions, trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, Bell’s palsy, radiculitis, plexitis, degenerative disc disease, diabetic polyneuropathy). 
4. Surgical conditions (postoperative infiltrates, slow-healing wounds, keloid scars, panaritium, hidradenitis, furuncles). 
5. Gynecological conditions (chronic inflammatory diseases, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, stress incontinence, secondary tubal infertility, preoperative and postoperative physiotherapeutic prevention of adhesions, postoperative urinary retention). 
6. Musculoskeletal conditions from overstraining (periarthritis, epicondylitis, tendovaginitis) autonomic polyneuropathy. 
7. Skin conditions (limited forms of neurodermatitis, herpes zoster, herpes simplex). 
8. Dental conditions (periodontal disease, arthritis and osteoarthritis of the temporo-mandibular joint). 
 
Different types of massage (including to pregnant women) are performed in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as aromatherapy, water aerobics for pregnant women.
