2. Is there an option to use a separate hospital room?
Yes. St. Sofia Hospital has 2 apartments, 6 separate luxury rooms and 4 VIP rooms with 2 or 3 beds. Each room has a private bathroom, television, cable and wireless internet.
3. What are the visiting hours at the hospital?
Patients can be visited every day from 16.00 to 17.00 hours in the spacious hospital lobby, located on the 1st floor.
Visiting in the Intensive Care Unit are not allowed.
Visiting during influenza epidemic is not allowed.
Patient information is obtained every day at 12.00 and at 18.00 hours in the lobby from the attending (on duty) physician.
In view of the Law on protection of personal data, patient information is not available by phone.
4. What is the procedure for scheduling an examination?
In St. Sofia Hospital you can schedule an appointment with a specialist chosen by you either personally or by telephone at the hospital’s registration desk – 02/8184600, 02/8184608.
For the examination you will need a № 3 NHIF referral slip from your General Practitioner.
The examination can be paid as well, according to the official price list of St. Sofia Hospital.
5. What referral do I need in order to be admitted or examined at the hospital?
Admission of health-insured persons to St. Sofia Hospital is with a № 7 NHIF referral slip from the GP, following assessment from the relevant specialist.
Health Uninsured patients pay their hospital stay and treatment, according to the official price list of St. Sofia Hospital.

6. Can I choose my doctor?
Yes, you can choose the doctor who will be treating you or operating on you, as lon as you have an agreement with him or her on the treatment or operations to be performed. You can select a physician from another hospital, provided he or she has a contract with St. Sofia Hospital for work or consultations privileges.
