We Come With a Lot of Joy and Hope in the Fourth Largest City in Bulgaria – as in Fact, is Sofia’s District of Liulin.
On the 15th of December 2009, Dr. Hristo Mazneikov opened St. Sofia Medical Center – Liulin. This is the first modern, well-equipped medical center in Liulin, which will provide a 24 hour service to the population of the fourth largest city in Bulgaria, as in fact, is Sofia’s district of Liulin.
The new center is part of the structure of St. Sofia Hospital, located at 104, Bulgaria Blvd 104. The two floors of the center comprise 14 offices with a total area of over 500 sq. m. 60 physicians of different specialties will work there. The emergency room and pharmacy will be available to those in need around the clock. The owners’ future plans are to set up a modern radiology unit there, but additional construction work is necessary. The medical center will operate under contract with the NHIF.
We come with a lot of joy and hope in Liulin district – said in his speech Dr. Hristo Mazneikov, director of St. Sofia Hospital. 6 general practitioners work in the Center. There will be 8 specialist’s offices and an ultrasound lab with the latest generation equipment – a 4D ultrasound machine. Some of the best specialists in this country will work there, to name Dr. Yanev, associate professor, Dr. Maximov, associate professor, Dr. Mazneikova. The director of St. Sofia Hospital reminded of the established good teams of specialists in orthopedics and ophthalmology.
In the last 4-5 years we fulfill our great mission, to introduce European standards in healthcare, Dr. Valentina Mazneikova said. By providing a laboratory for blood tests and a full range of specialists, we are trying to close the whole cycle of examination, consultation, diagnosis and additional tests. This will allow to fully utilize the abilities of a highly specialized hospital for the patient to receive an appropriate medical treatment or surgery. In this way we answer to all of the requirements from the Ministry of Health, including a 24-hour emergency patient service, use of hospitals’ own resources of specialists and equipment, improvement of fair public access to hospital services.
According to Dr. Krassimir Kushev – director of the Regional Health Insurance Fund –Sofia, the main advantage of the new center is that it will work with the Health Insurance Fund, with the possibility of paid service. Dr. Kushev considered as particularly important the fact that Dr. Mazneikov has provided 24 hour emergency help to citizens.
